Yesterday our team completed the successful rescue of an injured hiker from Rambler Peak in Strathcona Park.  Our members flew out to the scene on the RCMP helicopter (Air 8) and did a hover exit near the subject’s location.  After a rapid first aid assessment, we used ropes to safely get the injured climber up a snow slope to a safe landing area.  The subject was loaded onto the RCMP helicopter and flown back to the Campbell River Airport for transfer to BC Ambulance Service.  The rescue was completed successfully with only 20 minutes of daylight to spare!
